Your last chance to catch the fests

Monday, September 1st, 2008

OK, folks, so this weekend is your last chance to attend the big art festivals in Laguna Beach. They’re all closing their doors by Sunday’s end.

The , 650 Laguna Canyon Road, closes Saturday. Hours are 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m.

The , also at 650 Laguna Canyon Road, has two performances left, tonight (8/29) and Saturday. The pageant starts at 8:30 p.m.

The , 935 Laguna Canyon Road, closes Sunday. Hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Finally, , 777 Laguna Canyon Road, ends Sunday as well. Hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.

So check out the art, chat with the artists, enjoy some live music, and say hi to . Because once the doors close, it will be another year before you’ll be able to enjoy the festivals again.

(Except for Sawdust’s Winter Fantasy, but that’s another story.)

O.C. loved those dinos

in L.A.

As I mentioned in my review, ”Walking With Dinosaurs” is an often spellbinding show, but it’s got a few dead spots (pun, unfortunately, intended) and it might be too intense for kids under five. And the prices could be a little off-putting. I don’t like being forced to borrow from my HELOC just to buy a couple of tickets to an arena event. (To be fair, nosebleed seats are more reasonable, and these things are so big you’d have no trouble seeing them from up there.)

Here are the numbers.
