Chelsea will make an 8 million January move to bring Holland’s Royston Drenthe to Stamford Bridge. And they could make it a double signing with a swoop for Arsenal’s talented young Dane, Nicklas Bendtner.

Real Madrid winger Drenthe, 20, snubbed Chelsea in the summer to move to Spain from Feyenoord for 11m. But he has failed to settle at the Bernabeu and fallen out with coach Bernd Schuster.
