Cuban Ambassador in India Meets with Local Health Minister
Havana, March 21 (acn) The Cuban Ambassador in India, Miguel Angel Ramirez, held a working meeting on Thursday with the local Health Minister, Ramadoss, in which they analyzed the state of bilateral cooperation relations.
During the meeting, Ramadoss praised Cuba advances in the fields of health, sports and biotechnology, and noted that his country is interested in the island experience in those areas, particularly, in community and preventive medicine.
He announced that he would visit Cuba as soon as possible to promote bilateral cooperation and to learn about the Cuban reality at first hand.
For his part, the Cuban diplomat gave Ramadoss the most recent edition of the monthly magazine æ…¡alud?(Health), by the non governmental organization Association of Health Volunteers of India, which dedicates many of its pages to a report on the Cuban health care system.
In addition, Ramirez invited Ramadoss to participate the meeting of Health Ministers of the Movement of Non Aligned Countries that will take place next May in Geneva.
