Iranian Govt allocates USD 3bn to gasoline imports next year

The government has predicted a budget of rls 30 trillion (about three billion dollars) to gasoline and petroleum imports next year, it was reported on Wednesday.

Deputy Oil Minister, Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh, told IRNA that the budget was only allocated to the imports of petroleum and gasoline in the next Iranian calendar year of 1387 (March 21, 2008 - March 20, 2009).

Nematzadeh added that the amount was part of the budget allocated to the National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company (NIOPRDC) by the government in its rls 2,170 trillion budget bill presented to the Majlis on January 7 by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for the next year.

It seems that NIOPRDC’s next year budget has not changed compared to its last year budget, Nematzadeh added. –IRNA
