Control heads indie film shortlist
Other films with a series of nominations include David Cronenberg’s London-set gangster thriller, Eastern Promises, which hits cinemas this weekend and has five nods. Notes on a Scandal, Richard Eyre’s tale of a schoolteacher who embarks on an affair with a pupil, has four nominations, including nods for Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench in the best actress and best supporting actress categories.Winners of the tenth BIFA awards will be named on November 28, with a ceremony taking place at the Roundhouse in London, hosted by James Nesbitt.
