12:13 a.m. 1500 grid of Iowa 78. Jessica Marie Dennis, 17, was westbound on Iowa 78 when she swerved to avoid hitting a deer. Dennis lost control of the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee she was driving; the vehicle entered the north ditch and came to rest in a field. A passenger, Levi Rogers, 19, of Washington was uninjured. Dennis was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $1,000.
