Friday
7:59 a.m. Highway 96. A 2005 Dodge Neon driven by 16-year-old Elisabeth Kraus, 16, Nauvoo, Ill., was traveling south on Highway 96 when Kraus lost control on the slick road and slid into the path of a southbound 2000 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 45-year-old Suzanne E. Hamilton, 45, Carthage, Ill. The Neon hit the 4-Runner’s front-left corner with its passenger side door. Kraus was traveling with two passengers, 13-year-old Katherine Kraus, Nauvoo, and 17-year-old Joshua Campbell, Nauvoo. One of the passengers from the Neon was extracted by the Nauvoo Fire Department, and two of the passengers were transported to Fort Madison Community Hospital. No citations were issued, but the accident remails under investigation. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Thursday
6:45 p.m. U.S. 34 near Quincy Avenue. Burlington resident Desiree Conover was traveling east on U.S. 34 when she lost control of her vehicle, resulting in a one vehicle accident. She was transported to the Henry County Health Center by ambulance. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,000. No citations were issued.
