Three players scored in double figures to lead the Van Buren High School boys basketball team to a 62-60 win over Pekin in a SEI Superconference nondivisional game Saturday in Keosauqua.
Brock Caves led the Warriors with 16 points, C.J. Gaston had 15, and Jordon Hervey added 13 points. Both Louis Russell and Dennis Halverson both scored nine for the Warriors.

BHS freshmen sweep Muskies
The Burlington freshmen had a 70-31 ‘A’ team win while the ‘B’ team took a huge 86-15 win as the Graypups swept Muscatine at Clark Field House.
Ike Carter had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Graypups. Jordan Webb had 11 points and seven rebounds.
In the ‘B’ game, Blake Gardner had 16 points for Burlington. Mark Foster, Jamal Simmons, and Reed Chicken added 14 apiece.
The ‘A’ team is now 12-3, while the ‘B’ team is 8-2. The teams play at Mount Pleasant Jan. 28.
Notre Dame JV victorious
C.J. Wilson scored 12 points and Jacob Giertz added 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Notre Dame junior varsity to a 59-36 victory over Maquoketa at Father Minett Gymnasium.
Kameron Gray added 10 points for the Nikes, while Kevin Moehn scored eight points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Notre Dame (14-2) plays Monday at Van Buren.
